Urgent Care Practitioner and Advanced Nurse Practitioner

The Urgent Care Practitioner

We have specially trained urgent care practitioners who deal with requests for home visits, urgent problems, and emergencies, as well as offering advice on a variety of health-related conditions, to ensure the patient receives the appropriate care/treatment in a timely manner.

This service operates Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:30. Please call our reception and ask to speak to the urgent care practitioner.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner for under 16 years of age

Our Nurse Practitioner Julia Shipley has extended nursing skills with competence in examining and treating patients with previously undiagnosed conditions.  You can book an appointment with her as an alternative to booking an appointment with the Doctor.

Julia specialises in all aspects of children's health (under 16 years of age).

You can book an appointment with Julia if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Headaches
  • Eye, Ears, Nose, Mouth, and Throat Problems
  • Skin: lumps, bumps, and rashes
  • Abdominal upset/pain
  • Joint and muscular pain
  • Anxiety and depression

Julia can refer to a specialist where required.  Julia's work is under the supervision of the GP's here at Riverside.  Please ask at Reception for further information.
